The More You Learn…

Published on Friday, August 29, 2014 By Melissa Prycer
Alex Sniffen was our other intern over the summer, and while he technically worked for the Education Department, he could be found helping out in all kinds of places at the Village including the transport of very heavy and very valuable artifacts. Here is his letter about his internship experience: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Suess Oddly enough, my passion for learning and education is what brought me into the field of Museum Studies. In October of last year, I was in the final stages of really solidifying what I wanted to do with the next stage of my life. I knew that I wanted to go to graduate school, and I knew that somehow, if I could find a way to not abandon ..

A Historical Setting for your Historical Moments

With the exception of my lofty 8 year old dreams of a career as a professional gymnast which were foiled by a growth spurt, I have never known what I wanted to be when I grew up. I know the subjects that interest me, and the skills I perform well. I have taken the personality te ..

Shopping for the Village

Published on Friday, August 01, 2014 By Melissa Prycer
Today is August 1st which also means it is the first day that Dallas Heritage Village is closed for the rest of the summer. We appreciate all of the visitors who came out to the village, both new and familiar faces. Your constant participation helps this museum operate and allows us to keep all of our wonderful buildings in working order. One way that really helps the museum is all of your generous donations throughout the year and though we are closed for the month, there are still ways you can help the village. In this case, no extra money is even required. Instead you can help the Vill ..
